TAGS Bus Service
The Transportation Association of Greater Springfield (TAGS) is a non-profit, public-private transportation management association that plays a key role in the transportation improvement plan for the rapidly growing Greater Springfield area. The TAGS bus is a shuttle service, operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro), that circulates in Springfield's business district.
TAGS bus stops include:
- Metro Park
- Franconia-Springfield Metro Station
- Springfield Mall
- Springfield Hilton

Buses arrive every 15 minutes. Rides are just 25 cents between Franconia-Springfield station and the Springfield Hilton, and free between Franconia-Springfield station and Metro Park.
The buses follow a loop route from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. If you're planning to shop or run errands in Springfield, it's a great reason to take a train or bus to the Franconia-Springfield Metro Station and avoid the hassles associated with driving.
