Steel work on new bridge from I-395 South to I-495 East begins its placement over the exit ramp off I-495, Inner-Loop to Franconia/Old Keene Mill Roads (Route 644) and is making its way over the inner loop, outer-loop around over I-95 and onto I-495 East.
New steel recently erected over I-495, inner-loop, for the new bridge from I-395 South to I-495 East, outer-loop.
New abutments and piers being erected on I-95 North for the new bridge from I-95 N to I-495 East, Outer-Loop, towards the Woodrow Wilson Bridge that is expected to be opened to the public late this year. The current I-95 North ramp to the Outer-Loop will remain as the primary access point for local Springfield area traffic. The new bridge will be for motorist heading up I-95 North, from the South. This separation of local and long distance traffic on I-95 North to the Outer-Loop will make motoring easier and completely erase the daily grind motorists face today shifting lanes to get to the Outer-Loop.
